Parents need support too!
Parenting is a profound privilege that comes with the responsibility to raise, nurture, and support little humans into reaching their highest potential. In the midst of the responsibility though, we tend to lose sight of our own well-being. We neglect to yield ourselves grace, celebrate our own milestones; simply put we forget to remember that we are human.
The parent coaching service welcomes the challenges of parenting as an opportunity to learn. Parenting is full of grey areas, and successful parenting comes from the recognition that you are doing the best you can. We strongly believe that parents need positive affirmation, reassurance, and empowerment during their journey rather than shaming or judgement surrounding their abilities and weaknesses. An empowered parent can confidently continuously create a new path forward with their children.

Winnie is an Early Childhood Educator (M.Ed, birth to age three) and behaviour professional (Child and Youth Care, Autism and Behavioural Science), and child development specialist specializing in the Montessori pedagogy, and child and youth development. Valuing her interdisciplinary roots in psychology, sociology and cultural studies, Winnie is a parent education fellow, doubling as a positive parenting coach and possesses a decade of experience in facilitating and implementing various educational and developmental programs with children and adolescents. She has designed various programs that have supported the overall development of children such as language, sensorial, practical life learning, and cognitive development.
While doing her work, she realized that while there is ample support for the growing child during the early years, the support for parents and caregivers remain scarce and is practically non-existent for marginalized parents, this is where parent coaching comes in. She recognized that as we collectively shift towards the rewarding work of the inner child, unpacking our life long history and understanding how our experiences have contributed to the people we are today; if we insist on parenting our children the same way we were raised, then we will miss our chance at truly breaking traumatic generational patterns. Accessibility to resources that promote positive parenting remain scarce, leaving marginalized, particularly Black parents largely relying on the way they were parented. With the parent support service, parents and caregivers of young children will have 1-1 access to additional support that is needed to transform their parenting experience, understand their child’s development, guide them in holistically supporting the latter and provide the appropriate support in their parenting journey.
